President's Profile

Catherine F. Devlin, Jr., "Cappy" to all her friends, is a trusted and respected professional, with a diversified 30-year background in travel and journalism.

Cappy founded Cappy Devlin International, Inc. in 1973 and Travel-By-Net in 1998, as the company's internet division. As President and CEO of CDI and Travel-By-Net, Cappy has provided a broad range of travel services for clients from more than 100 countries, offering them the most advanced cost-containment technology, worldwide travel expertise and extraordinary personal service. In addition to individual clients, Cappy has handled travel arrangements for over 2,000 groups, including corporate incentive programs, meetings, product launches, friends and family reunions, and association conventions.

A graduate of Manhattanville College, where she majored in economics, Cappy has lived and worked in New York City and Westchester County. She has been active in many charitable and professional organizations, including the prestigious Women Presidents' Organization and the Westchester County Association.

Career highlights for Cappy include Reader's Digest, where she worked on the World Press Institute program for foreign journalists; and Ticketron, where she was Editor of the "Ticketron Sports and Entertainment Guide," and a consultant for the American Revolution Bicentennial Commission. She also co-founded L'Ensemble, a distinguished chamber music group in New York, and Friendship Ambassadors, a non-profit foundation providing international cultural and educational exchange programs for over 25,000 people.

In over one million miles of travel, Cappy has given hundreds of lectures, seminars and interviews, promoting worldwide travel destinations. She has also earned many travel achievement awards, including Celebrity Cruises' Top Performer Award. In addition, she produced and hosted "Cappy's Travel Tips," a radio and TV show sponsored by TWA, and "Don't Miss The Boat," the first cable TV cruise infomercial. Recently Cappy was featured on Bloomberg's "Small Business" show for the development of Cappy's Travel Center kiosk for which she was issued a U.S. Patent.

In 1979, Cappy was invited to bring one of the first delegations to the People's Republic of China and was honored in Beijing by the Minister of Culture and Tourism. She has also been honored with the highest civilian award by the Romanian Government and the Polish-American Friendship Award.

Cappy exemplifies her corporate motto: "The World Is Open To You. Experience It!" In her travels, she has been very fortunate to meet with many heads of state, distinguished leaders, and celebrities…but, most importantly to her, are the people from every walk of life who were open-hearted and kind, and let her experience their world.
